Who made this

Slime molds, financial crashes, ant colonies, cities. I kept finding the same thing.

My name is Felicity. I read a lot, think in systems, and have never been able to stay inside one discipline for long. At some point I noticed that a concept from evolutionary biology would explain something I was seeing in markets, or a principle from architecture would show up in how the immune system works. I started writing things down to make sense of it.

Synapedia is where those notes live. Syna from synapse, the gap between two neurons where a signal jumps across. Pedia from encyclopedia, a map of what is understood so far. Together: a record of connections I keep finding between things that look unrelated on the surface.

Most of the essays here start from a single question I could not leave alone. They follow it wherever it leads, through biology, economics, philosophy, design, neuroscience, wherever the idea actually lives rather than where the syllabus puts it. The recurring lens is complexity science: the study of how the same structural patterns appear across very different systems. Once you see it, it is hard to unsee.

This is not a course or a curriculum. It is self-study, written up properly in case it is useful to someone else asking similar questions. If something here gives you a thread to pull, that is the whole point.
